Though, MMA is still a relatively young sport since it first broadcast in 1993, it is the fastest growing sport and India is no exception. More and more Indians are turning to MMA as an alternative to traditional sports. Although MMA reached India only a few years ago, but it quickly created a large pool of MMA athletes and its followers all across India as in the West.
September 28, 2018, was the turning point of Indian Mixed Martial Arts when Toyam Industries Limited launched ‘Kumite 1 League’ at the National Sports Club of India (NSCI) Dome, Mumbai in the presence of its brand ambassador global star ‘Mike Tyson’. The event was attended by several national and international sports and entertainment personalities. The event was broadcast in India on Sony ESPN, Sony ESPN HD and Sony Liv and it was beamed across more than 80 countries.
Toyam Industries Limited is currently busy doing ‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt’ season 1, which is India’s first-ever MMA Talent Hunt & Sports Reality Show soon going to be launched as a Web Series on MX Player. ‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt’ is India’s search for two of the best Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) athletes (1 Male & 1 Female). ‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt’ is being line-produced by Oneway Films Pvt. Ltd. along with world renowned reality show content production house EndemolShine India and the series will be hosted by Bollywood star and fitness icon Mr. Suniel Shetty.
